#411 of 420Handmade Ceramic Mug
Personal photo: A handmade ceramic mug in a speckled blue-green glaze on a wooden table, with visible throwing marks on the interior and an asymmetric handle.
At a craft fair I bought a ceramic mug with a slightly uneven rim and a glaze that pools thicker on one side. Those imperfections are exactly why I reach for it every morning instead of the matching set from the store. Stoneware clay body, heavier than porcelain, holds heat longer so my coffee stays warm through the first 20 minutes. Shaped for 3 fingers rather than 4, the handle fits my grip in a way that mass-produced handles never do. Faint spiral marks from the wheel are visible on the inside of the cup, proof that someone shaped this specific object with their hands.
