Personal photo: Folding tables on a grassy quad covered with piles of assorted clothing, students browsing and holding up garments, with a handwritten 'Free Swap' sign visible.

The thrift swap on the quad happens every semester. Rules are simple: bring clothes you don't want, take clothes you do want, no money changes hands. By 10 AM the tables fill up with jackets, jeans, sweaters, and shoes. By noon the selection thins out, but the energy stays because finding something good in a pile of strangers' donations feels like a small victory. I picked up a flannel shirt that fits perfectly and left a pair of boots I'd outgrown.
