#352 of 420Herman Miller Aeron Chair

My library just replaced the old wooden chairs in the group study rooms with Herman Miller Aeron chairs and the difference is startling. Mesh seat breathes so I don't get sweaty during long study sessions. Lumbar support adjusts with a small dial on the back that feels precise and smooth. My posture is actually better after 3 hours in this chair than after 1 hour in my desk chair at home. I take fewer breaks because my back isn't hurting. Tilt tension lets me lean back just enough to think without feeling like I am going to fall. Sitting in it makes you aware of how bad every other chair you sit in actually is. I find myself choosing that specific study room now just for the seating. Armrests adjust in 3 directions and the height range works for my 6-foot frame without bottoming out. I looked up the price and a new one is about $1,400, which explains why the library probably bought refurbished ones, but even those hold up well.
