Press shot: a classic plastic honey bear squeeze bottle filled with golden honey, the yellow flip cap closed, sitting on a light wooden breakfast table.

Honey bear squeeze bottle is a shape that feels completely natural now even though someone had to design it, clear plastic molded into a bear sitting upright with a yellow flip cap on top. It fits in your hand like it was made for squeezing over pancakes at 8 am when you can barely see straight. I like that the cap snaps shut so it doesn't drip on the shelf, and the plastic is soft enough to control how much comes out. The bear shape is playful unlike a regular jar. I think that is why it has been the default honey container for decades even though glass jars would be fancier. You can explore different honeys, wildflower or clover or buckwheat, and they all come in the same bear, which makes the shape a container category of its own. It's cheap, it works, and it makes me smile when I grab it off the counter.
