Press shot: a smartphone screen showing a pill reminder app interface with a row of circular day indicators, a green checkmark on today's dose, and a monthly compliance calendar below.

Pill reminder apps that send you a notification at the same time every day with a satisfying checkmark when you tap "taken" feel like such a small piece of software. Interface shapes work because the row of circles for each day of the week looks like a physical pill organizer and that visual familiarity makes it easy to use without thinking. I like that the best ones track streaks and show you a monthly calendar of completed doses in green. A gentle buzz on my wrist from my watch is just enough to interrupt whatever I am doing without being annoying. Form is clean and the daily rhythm it creates makes me feel more in control of a routine that used to be easy to forget.
