Magnetic spice jars stick to the side of the fridge and free up an entire cabinet, which in a small apartment is a serious amount of space. Stainless steel jars with clear lids let you see what is inside. Magnets on the back are strong enough that a full jar of cumin stays put even when you slam the freezer door. Arrangement becomes a kind of display, you end up organizing by color or frequency of use. Entire collection is visible at once instead of buried behind the baking powder. Something playful about a wall of spices that you can rearrange any time. My kitchen is 48 square feet and every surface does double duty, so finding vertical storage that requires 0 installation was genuinely useful. Jars come in sets of 12 and each one holds about 4 ounces, which is enough for anything except maybe flour or sugar.
