#317 of 357Notion Student Templates
Editorial: A laptop screen showing a Notion semester dashboard with color-coded course sections, a calendar view, and a reading tracker table, styled with custom icons and a clean white background.
Notion's student templates let you build a semester dashboard with assignment trackers, reading lists, and grade calculators all in one page. The system is flexible enough that I customized mine into something no other productivity app offers out of the box. The template gallery has hundreds of layouts made by other students, so I didn't have to start from scratch. I picked one close to what I wanted and rearranged it. Embedding databases inside pages inside other pages creates a nesting structure that mirrors how I actually think about schoolwork. Courses contain assignments. Assignments contain notes. Notes link to readings. Notion gives you the components but doesn't dictate the structure, and that openness is why everyone's Notion looks completely different. The free plan for students with an .edu email includes unlimited pages and blocks. That removes the paywall keeping most productivity tools from being actually useful at this level. The only real cost is setup time, about 2 hours at the start of the semester. That investment pays off every day after. I've tried Trello, Todoist, and Google Keep, and none of them gave me this level of control over layout and linking.
