Personal photo: a campus coffee cart with a window counter, an espresso machine visible inside, a small chalkboard sign listing the menu and coffee origin, and a short line of students waiting with backpacks.

Outside the library sits a converted food truck window with an espresso machine, a grinder, and a pour-over station. The barista pulls better shots than half the coffee shops downtown because the cart only serves 1 origin at a time and dials it in for 8 hours straight. Espresso, americano, latte, and a batch brew drip. That's the whole menu, and the simplicity means the line moves fast enough to grab a drink between classes. On a small chalkboard, the cart posts the coffee origin and roast date. Knowing those beans were roasted 5 days ago from a specific farm in Colombia creates a trust that instant recognition of a chain logo can't match. After my 3rd visit the barista remembered my order, and that alone made me a regular.
