#37 of 383ZARA Try-On Interface

ZARA's app has a try-on feature where you scan an item in-store and the app shows you styled outfit combinations with pieces from the current collection. The whole interaction takes about 3 seconds from scan to result. Styling suggestions are algorithmic rather than editorial, pulling from purchase data and current inventory rather than a stylist's opinion. Outfits update as stock changes so the same jacket might pair with different pants depending on the week. The app also shows in-store availability by location, meaning you can check if your size is in the fitting room queue before walking across the store. I like that ZARA treats the phone as part of the store experience rather than a separate channel. It adds information that the physical space cannot provide without adding staff. Visual layout of the suggestions is a vertical scroll of full-body outfit photos. An "add to bag" button appears on each individual piece so you can buy just the parts you want. ZARA's turnover cycle is 2 to 3 weeks for new inventory, and the app interface adapts to that speed by surfacing newness on the home screen without requiring you to search for it.
