The Stanley Quencher went from discontinued product to best-selling water bottle in America in about 2 years. I have mixed feelings. The 40-ounce size fits in a car cup holder, apparently the feature that mattered most to the audience discovering it. The handle makes one-handed carrying easy enough that people bring it everywhere. But vacuum insulation is the same technology Yeti and Hydro Flask have used for years, and at $45 the price is comparable. What actually drove the trend was color drops and limited editions creating the same scarcity-driven buying that sneaker culture relies on. Mine keeps water cold for 10 hours and I use it daily. I'm not convinced it does anything a $15 insulated bottle from Target wouldn't also do.
