Carhartt WIP chore coat is a workwear piece that crossed over into fashion so completely that you see it on construction sites and gallery openings in the same week. Canvas is a firm 12-ounce duck that softens with wear but never loses its structure, and the blanket lining in the winter version adds warmth without bulk. I want the Hamilton Brown colorway because it develops the best patina over time, and the fit is boxy enough to layer over a hoodie without looking oversized. WIP line takes the original Carhartt silhouettes and adjusts proportions for a European market. Sleeves are slightly slimmer and the body is a touch shorter than the American work version. Pockets are deep and reinforced at the stress points, and the brass snaps on the front closure feel solid enough that I trust them in cold weather. At $265 it's expensive for a cotton jacket, but the Carhartt name carries credibility across enough different groups that wearing it feels neither try-hard nor careless.
