A water fountain in the campus gym has a bottle-fill station that counts how many disposable bottles it has saved, and the counter currently reads 47,832. Surprisingly effective as persuasion because every time I fill my bottle I watch the number tick up by 1 and feel like I am contributing to a total that matters. Water flow is strong enough to fill a 24-ounce bottle in about 8 seconds. Sensor activates when it detects the bottle underneath, hands-free, which is important in a gym where your hands are sweaty. Regular fountain below it has a weaker flow and a lower arc, and I see people use the bottle filler even when they don't have a bottle, cupping their hands under the flow. That tells me the station's success is partly about water pressure and not only about environmental messaging.
