#102 of 383Campus Shuttle Van Route
Personal photo: a white 15-passenger campus shuttle van stopped at a small blue sign on a tree-lined campus road, with the university logo visible on the van door and a few students boarding.
A campus shuttle runs a loop from the residence halls to the academic buildings every 12 minutes during class hours. The route was designed so that no student has to walk more than 4 minutes to reach a stop. It's a 15-passenger van with the university logo on the side, and the driver knows every student's face by the 3rd week of the semester. Stops are marked with small blue signs that match the campus wayfinding system, and the schedule is posted at each stop and on the university app. I like that the shuttle is free, runs on time more often than not, and creates a 12-minute rhythm to the campus day that students plan around without thinking about it. The route connects the library to the dining hall to the gym in a triangle that covers the 3 places students go most. Simplicity is the design decision that keeps ridership high.
