Figma is a design tool that runs entirely in a browser. Building it as a web application rather than a desktop program changed the way design teams work because everyone on a project can see the same canvas in real time without downloading software or syncing files. Each collaborator's cursor appears on screen as a small colored dot with their name. You can watch your teammate move elements around while you work on a different section of the same file. I like how the tool reduces the friction between having an idea and sharing it. A link to a Figma file works like a Google Doc link and anyone with access can view or edit depending on their permissions. The interface is clean without being sparse, with tools organized in a left sidebar and properties in a right panel. Layout feels learnable within a day for anyone who has used Photoshop or Sketch before.
