Personal photo: an iPod Classic in silver with a scratched screen and worn click wheel, earbuds coiled around it, resting on a denim jacket.

My older sibling gave me their iPod Classic last year and the click wheel is the most satisfying input device I've ever used. Smooth circular motion under my thumb with a tactile click at each cardinal point and a scrolling momentum that speeds up the faster you spin. Holding the brushed aluminum body in my palm feels like holding a river stone that plays music. Heavy for its size, the weight feels intentional, like the engineers wanted you to know this thing was built from metal. Screen is small enough that browsing your library requires the scroll wheel rather than taps, which turns choosing a song into a physical gesture. I like that it only does 1 thing, play music. Simplicity of a device with no apps, no notifications, and no internet connection makes listening feel like an activity rather than a background function. Battery still holds about 8 hours after all these years. A 160 GB hard drive spins up with a faint mechanical whir that reminds you there are moving parts inside.
