Spotify Discover Weekly

Spotify's Discover Weekly playlist shows up every Monday with 30 songs the algorithm thinks I'll like based on my listening history. Pressing play on a playlist someone, or something, made just for me is why I keep coming back even when 20 of the 30 tracks are misses. Hits are good enough to justify the whole thing because I've found 3 or 4 artists through Discover Weekly that became regular listening. Discovery loop is the reason I pay for Spotify over Apple Music or YouTube Music. I like the anticipation of Monday mornings now, which is a weird thing to say about a playlist generated by a recommendation engine. Ritual of checking it with my coffee has become part of my week. Playlist cover art changes each week with a collage of the featured artists, and that visual refresh signals newness even before I hear anything.
