Linen wrinkles the moment you put it on, and I think that's the best thing about it. The wrinkles communicate that you're wearing a natural fiber that hasn't been engineered to behave like plastic. Woven from flax fibers that are stronger than cotton but stiffer, the stiffness creates characteristic creasing at the elbows and behind the knees. Some people are bothered by this. Others associate wrinkles with lived-in comfort. Linen also breathes better than any other natural fiber in hot weather, wicking moisture away from your skin and drying quickly. For thousands of years, it has been the fabric of choice in Mediterranean and tropical climates.
