Hey Guys, I’ll actually be out of town for presentations,
but there’s a few key features for the ‘stories’ platform I should write down
for the storyboard.  First of all, there
is only numeric text throughout the entire platform, giving maximum usability
to not only semi-literate users, but even illiterate users.  The home screen has a map API to map out the
location of the stories, and is designed as a “pinch-to-zoom” function to
search within specific countries and even cities.  The API doesn’t rely on real-time GPS, which
is low maintenance for a low-tech smartphone.

The genres tab determines the classification of stories to
relay, like fashion, science, or weather, and are displayed with simple
icons.  For the actual feed, I rely on
compressed, Lo-Res GIFs to deliver content, which is ranked by a
‘context-algorithm’, where specific photos relating to the story are ranked
according to their scope of contextual clues.
This will free up bandwidth compared to the use of mp4s, which is more
computationally taxing on smartphones.  Users
swipe laterally for more ranked pictures, and can follow a link to the native
article from the third-party host.  They
can ‘vote’ a story’s popularity by selecting the fire icon above the thread,
which will impact that articles rank in future queries.
