Creality's 3D-printed mask strap buckle designed to relieve ear pressure on healthcare workers' masks during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the design made freely available for download.

Creality has created a more comfortable buckle or strap for the masks used by healthcare workers. They saw the need for this because of how uncomfortable the current straps were making workers and how they were even leaving cuts on their faces. So they created this design using a 3D printer and have been making it since Feb 21st 2020. It works by the elastic straps of the mask being pulled over one of the bars on either side so the pressure is taken off from behind the ears. Each day they have their 10 printers work for 10 hours producing 1,600 mask straps a day. My favourite part of the story is that they have made the design available and free to download so anyone with a 3d printer can create it!
