As we established in the Icon Challenge, designing a highly recognizable, game-changing piece of fashion or homeware is difficult but rewarding for the brand who is able to do so. An interesting off-shoot of brand-specific iconic design is the field of companies that offer customization of more generic iconic products. For example:
- CONSTRVCT: customized images on women’s leggings
- May28th.me: customized images on simple plastic watches
- Various companies: customized stickers for the back of Apple laptops incorporating the iconic glowing white apple logo
- Patagonia: customizing their own iconic pullover sweaters with group logos
