From a functional standpoint, the synched middles beg users to grasp them, and the soft curves keep the potentially slippery items securely in hand. From a psychological standpoint, the undeniably female form triggers culturally-instilled notions of domesticity, subservience, and maternity. Marketing for cleaning products has historically intertwined concepts of femininity, beauty, and service, and this design manages to do so in a highly functional and tactilely appealing manner.
