Personal photo: A crowded campus thrift pop-up event with folding tables of sorted clothing, students browsing, and hand-lettered price signs.

Thrift pop-ups run by student organizations in the campus center every month have become the best place to find clothes. Prices are low enough that the barrier to trying a new style basically disappears. Folding tables fill a room, covered in donated and consigned items sorted roughly by category. Everything prices between $2 and $15 regardless of brand or condition. Last month I found a wool overcoat that fits perfectly for $8. My friend got Levi's 501s for $5. The social element matters because you're browsing alongside people you know. Recommendations happen in real time when someone holds something up and asks the room if it works. Trusted environment because sellers are other students and overhead is zero. Prices reflect actual secondhand value rather than curated vintage markup.
