Rivian R1S showed up at a car show on campus and the thing that stood out wasn't the specs but the way the headlights wrap around the front in 1 continuous bar. Giving the whole face a look that reads more like a friendly robot than a truck. Interior has this flat birch wood trim on the center console that nobody puts in an SUV. Gear tunnel running behind the rear axle is a storage space that only makes sense when you see someone slide a full set of skis into it from the side. Rivian is trying to build the Patagonia of electric vehicles and whether they pull it off is still an open question. I want to see them succeed because the alternative is every EV looking like a Tesla or a rebadged gas car.
