The Dr. Bronner's 18-in-1 peppermint soap has been in my shower since freshman year and the label. Is covered edge to edge in tiny text about moral philosophy and cosmic unity, is the most unusual piece of packaging in my bathroom. Concentrated and versatile, the liquid castile dilutes for different uses. Two drops on a washcloth produces enough lather for a full shower, and that means a 32-ounce bottle lasts me about 4 months. I want to keep using it because the peppermint oil creates a cooling sensation on your skin that wakes you up better than the water temperature does. The formula is simple enough that I can read every ingredient and understand what it's. The brand is certified organic and fair trade. The company is employee-owned, and all of that context sits on the label alongside quotes from Hillel and Emerson , and it feels sincere rather than performative. The fact that this soap works as body wash, shampoo, dish soap. Laundry detergent means I've used it for all 4 purposes in my apartment, though it is best as a body wash and merely adequate for dishes.
