#89 of 363Yeti Rambler Water Bottle
Illustration: A line drawing of a Yeti Rambler water bottle against a topographic map background, showing the wide-mouth opening and matte exterior finish in a flat graphic style.
I keep seeing these on campus and finally understand why people are so specific about their water bottles. The Yeti Rambler has a wide mouth that makes it easy to drop ice in. The cap threads on , and it feels secure without needing 3 full rotations. For me it's a nature thing. I started noticing it on hikes where people clip them to the outside of their packs. They look like they belong there. Matte coating on the steel doesn't show fingerprints the way polished metal does. The bottom is flat enough to sit on uneven surfaces without tipping. Form is what got me first: this cylinder that doesn't taper or flare, just a straight column with rounded edges. Most water bottles try to be ergonomic with curves and grip zones, but this one commits to being a cylinder and it works. The whole outdoor community seems to have agreed on this shape. Filling it at a stream and drinking cold water 6 hours later on a summit still catches me off guard.
