#70 of 363Sweetgreen Order Screen
Personal photo: A touchscreen ordering kiosk showing a colorful bowl illustration with ingredients layered on top of each other, calorie count displayed, and customization options on the side.
At Sweetgreen an ordering kiosk shows each ingredient on a screen as you add it to your bowl. With the colors of the vegetables and grains building up in a layered illustration that mirrors what the actual bowl will look like. Touch targets are big enough that you don't accidentally hit the wrong item, and the calorie count updates in real time as you customize. Visual feedback makes choosing ingredients feel like composing something rather than just checking boxes off a list. Ordering a harvest bowl, the screen version looked better than the real thing, which is a common gap. Still, the ordering experience itself was satisfying in a way that pointing at things behind glass isn't.
