Portable battery packs have become a thing you just carry, like keys or a wallet. Running out of phone charge in the middle of the day is a problem that happens often enough to justify the 6 ounces in your bag. The good ones hold about 10,000 mAh, enough for 2 full phone charges. They have both USB-C and USB-A ports so you can charge newer and older devices without carrying different cables. I like that the better models show the remaining capacity on a small LED display rather than making you guess from 4 blinking dots. Knowing you have 47% left is more useful than knowing you are somewhere between a quarter and a half. Charging speed matters too, and models that support 20W fast charging can get a phone from 10% to 50% in about 25 minutes. Is fast enough to be useful during a break between classes. Price ranges from $15 for a basic model to $50 for 1 with wireless charging and a higher capacity, and around $25 is where quality and value meet for most students.
