#120 of 363Aesop Reverence Hand Wash
Editorial photo of an Aesop Reverence Aromatique Hand Wash bottle in amber glass with a black pump, positioned on a white marble bathroom counter next to a folded linen towel.
Aesop positioned hand soap as an object worth displaying. The Reverence Aromatique hand wash in the brown glass bottle with the minimal label has been sitting on the bathroom counter of every design-conscious apartment I've visited in the last 2 years. A satisfying resistance from the pump mechanism leads into the soap itself, a paste rather than a liquid, thick and gritty with ground pumice. Exfoliating texture makes washing your hands feel like a small ritual rather than something you do on autopilot. Vetiver and petitgrain give the scent an earthy, sharp quality that lingers on your skin for about 20 minutes after you rinse. At $39 for a 500ml bottle that lasts maybe 3 months, the price is high enough to make you think about each pump but not so extreme that it feels unreasonable as a daily luxury. It trusts the product to speak without bright colors or loud claims on the label — and at $39, that restraint is exactly what you're paying for.
