Procreate app for iPad is a drawing tool that costs $13 once, no subscription. Replacing Photoshop for most of the digital illustrators I follow, the brush engine is responsive enough that drawing on the iPad screen feels close to drawing on paper. Powerful but with a clean interface, no menus within menus, and gesture controls are intuitive, 2-finger tap to undo, 3 fingers to redo. Built by a 2-person studio in Australia, it competes directly with Adobe while selling as a 1-time purchase, a model they chose because they believe it's fairer.
