#335 of 420Patagonia Nano Puff Jacket
Press shot: A lightweight navy blue quilted puffer jacket photographed flat against a white background, showing the chest pocket and slim silhouette.
I bought the Patagonia Nano Puff because I needed something warm enough for a Boston October but light enough to stuff into my backpack when the sun comes out. Jacket weighs about 340 grams and packs down into its own chest pocket, a detail I use constantly. Insulation is synthetic, not down, so it still works when wet. I've been caught in rain twice without losing warmth. Fit is slim without being tight. Two hand pockets sit high enough that they don't get blocked by a backpack hip belt. At $229 it isn't a casual purchase, but I've worn it almost every day since early September and expect to keep wearing it through spring. Ripstop nylon shell picks up less lint than fleece, a small thing but it. Patagonia's repair program means if I tear it I can send it in rather than replace it. Supporting that approach matters to me, even if I haven't needed to use it yet.
