USB-C connector is the first cable standard that actually feels like it could be universal, the oval shape plugs in either way so you never fumble with orientation. Same port charges my laptop, connects my phone, and outputs video to a monitor. I like that the plug is small and symmetrical, and the satisfying click when it seats tells you the connection is secure. EU mandating USB-C on all devices means the drawer of cables with 5 different connectors might actually become a thing of the past.
