Press shot: an Apple Watch Hermes edition with a brown leather band and orange stitching, displayed on a cream fabric surface showing the buckle and watch face.

My roommate got the Apple Watch Hermes edition. The leather band smells like an expensive bag. Stitching is tight and orange, and the buckle has actual weight to it. The watch itself does the same things as the regular Apple Watch, but wearing it feels different. Like putting on a real watch instead of a fitness tracker. I keep picking it up off her dresser just to feel the band. Smooth on the outside, slightly textured on the wrist side where the leather grips your skin. At $1,299, it's absurd for a device that'll be outdated in 3 years. But the band will outlast every software update.
