Oversized men's button-down shirts at the thrift store near campus cost $4 to $8 and have become the base of my wardrobe because they layer over anything, roll at the sleeves without looking sloppy. Worn-in cotton has a softness that new shirts take a year to develop. The fit isn't fitted, that is the point, and wearing something that wasn't designed for my body but works anyway feels like a small act of creative reuse. I want 3 more in different plaids.
