#314 of 357Bite Toothpaste Tablets
Editorial: A small glass jar of Bite toothpaste tablets on a white bathroom counter, with a few round white tablets scattered beside it and a bamboo toothbrush in the background.
Bite toothpaste tablets come in a small glass jar instead of a plastic tube. You chew one until it foams and then brush with it. That felt strange for about 3 days and now feels completely normal. The ingredient list is short, and I can pronounce everything on it. Refills arrive in compostable pouches through a subscription, so the whole system produces almost no waste compared to the 1 billion toothpaste tubes going to landfills in the US every year. Getting people past the initial weirdness of chewing their toothpaste is the real design challenge. Once you do, the experience is fine and the clean feeling is the same.
