Personal photo: a glass bus shelter on a snowy campus sidewalk at dusk, warm orange light from the radiant heater visible on the ceiling, a few students standing inside.

Bus shelters on the north side of campus have radiant heaters mounted in the ceiling. On a February morning when it's 15 degrees outside, standing under one while you wait for the shuttle turns a miserable 8-minute wait into something almost comfortable. Glass-walled with a metal roof, the heaters kick on when temperature drops below freezing. A small infrastructure decision that makes the whole transit system more usable during winter. Last week I noticed the shelter nearest the science building also has a USB charging port built into the bench. No idea when it was added, but it changes the waiting experience entirely. Ridership numbers shift between seasons. I'd bet the heated shelters are a significant part of why the winter drop-off isn't worse.
