#79 of 315Telehealth Visit Experience
Editorial: A laptop screen showing a telehealth video call interface with a doctor visible in a white coat, a chat sidebar with typed symptoms, and a prescription notification at the bottom of the screen.
A telehealth visit I had last month was better than going to student health in almost every way. Design made the difference more than the technology itself. Fifteen minutes before the appointment, the app sent a notification with a link to a virtual waiting room. Instead of sitting in a chair with other sick people for 40 minutes, I sat at my desk and worked until the doctor appeared on screen. The consultation lasted about 10 minutes, the doctor sent a prescription to my pharmacy electronically, and I picked it up on my way home from class. Just a video window and a chat sidebar for sharing symptoms and photos kept things simple.
