Personal photo: A clean desk surface with a monitor, laptop, and desk lamp, shot from sitting height showing no visible cables, with a glimpse of neatly routed cables visible underneath the desk edge.

I spent an afternoon routing all the cables under my desk through adhesive clips and velcro ties. The visual difference is dramatic enough that I keep looking under the desk to admire it, which is maybe the wrong response to cable management but I don't care. Monitor cable, charging cables, lamp cord, and speaker wire all run along the underside of the desk surface and down a single leg, and from a normal sitting position you can't see any of them. The workspace went from looking like a tangle of plastic snakes to looking like a workspace that belongs to someone who has opinions about things. Supplies cost about $12 total from the hardware store, and the whole project took maybe 90 minutes including several mistakes with adhesive placement.
