The coffee shop where I study has power outlets at every seat. The single infrastructure choice is why I go there instead of the 3 other cafes within walking distance. A dead laptop battery ends a study session faster than closing time. Outlets are built into the tables at a height where the cord doesn't drag on the floor. Some tables have USB ports recessed into the surface so you can charge your phone without an adapter. Tables near outlets fill up first every morning. Those without stay empty until the cafe is full. The usage pattern tells you the outlet is doing more work for the business than the menu.
