Personal photo: A yellow wooden Little Free Library box mounted on a post at a street corner, glass door slightly open showing a row of paperback books inside, with houses and trees in the background.

The Little Free Library box on my street corner is about the size of a mailbox, painted yellow with a glass door. It cycles through roughly 15 books a week. Nobody curates it and nobody monitors it. On any given day, the selection ranges from self-help paperbacks to children's picture books to the occasional literary novel that someone probably finished on a plane. It works because it asks nothing of you except basic honesty.
