Instacart solved a problem I didn't realize I had until I moved off campus and started buying my own groceries for the first time. The app lets you shop from multiple stores in one session. Real-time tracking shows your shopper moving through the aisles, which is weirdly satisfying to watch. Where the design gets thoughtful is the replacement suggestion feature: when an item is out of stock, the shopper sends you a photo of alternatives and you can approve or reject each one. It removes the anxiety of not being there in person and gives you enough control that the final bag of groceries usually matches what you'd have picked yourself.
