#145 of 315Reversible Bucket Hats
Personal photo: A reversible bucket hat shown from both sides, one in solid olive green and the other in a bold plaid pattern, laid flat on a wooden table.
Reversible bucket hats solve the problem of wanting 2 different looks without carrying 2 separate accessories. The design is simple enough that it's surprising more hat styles haven't adopted the same approach. One side is usually a solid color or neutral pattern while the other is bolder, a plaid or print or contrasting bright. You flip it inside out depending on outfit or mood. Stitching has to be clean on both sides since both are visible at different times, a construction constraint that makes reversible hats slightly harder to produce than single-sided ones. Bucket hats have cycled in and out of fashion repeatedly since the 1960s, but the current revival feels broader than previous ones because it crosses demographics from hip-hop to outdoor recreation to high fashion.
