V Live is a South Korean livestreaming app where celebrities can broadcast videos while responding to live messages from viewers who tune in. Made popular by K-pop groups, V Live provides a feeling of closeness in remote settings, an imagination the pandemic has forced us to adopt more and more. Including mukbang (broadcasts where hosts eat while interacting with viewers, simulating a meal together for some), such livestreaming substitutes to human interaction become more welcome in social distancing.
