The Row is a fashion company started by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen in 2006 in NYC. I interned on their technical design team 3 years ago. I really identify with the design aesthetic of The Row, because it is streamlined, minimalist, and luxurious. They use the most beautiful Italian fabrics, perfected design finishes (all manufacturing is done in New York and Italy). After working at this company, I really resonated with their understated approach to design that focuses on fit, silhouette, and quality finishes. There is an understated sense of modernity that is timeless in the company’s designs.
