The news app by Apple used to be pretty frustrating because a lot of the magazines and Newspapers they included required subscriptions to read, but because of COVID-19, newspapers have been making their coverage of the coronavirus free! Which in itself if great, but I love how the apple news app has approached it! They assemble these newsletters that take snippets from different articles, and every morning send a notification with that morning’s “briefing” with a little sun emoji. I find this idea to do the briefing inspiring because of the mixture of serious news and lighthearted stories. For instance, sometimes they will include a link to a National Geographic’s story with beautiful photographs, or talk about movies and shows. This makes the experience of reading news in a time like this more enjoyable because it’s a mixture of uplifting stories and serious updates!
