Since many different arts-oriented organizations (such as professional dance companies) have had to cancel their usual season of showings and showcases, many of them have moved online and are streaming past performances for free for limited time frames. Although it is disappointing that they do not get to showcase their newest exciting work, this still serves as a way to share their artistry with an audience and perhaps gain more viewership — theoretically, this could reach an even broader viewership because there are viewer barriers to viewing it. Especially when everyone is at home and more prone to boredom, more people might decide to tune in. I hope that one good thing that comes out of this situation in the future is a greater appreciation for the arts.
