“Parks and Recreation” (or “Parks and Rec”) has amassed a large and loyal fanbase since it came out, and even though the show ended in 2015, the fanbase has only grown since the show came to Netflix. This past week, the cast of the show came together once again for a reunion episode to raise money for Feeding America. The show worked well, as each character was on a “call” with everyone else, and the writers continued to use the style that had everyone laughing and falling in love with the characters at the same time. The show was particularly inspiring and suited for this moment with the coronavirus, because it felt like everyone was coming together again for a virtuous cause, and they encouraged people to help with COVID-19 relief. Additionally, when all the news feels so heavy all the time, the show provided some much-needed laughs and smiles.
