In one of my favorite art museums, the Louisiana Art Museum, near Copenhagen, a large room with floor to ceiling windows contains nothing on the floors except one Giacometti sculpture. The room, though decorated with only a few pieces of art, creates a feeling of vastness, as the visitor looks out on the pond through the windows. This room inspires a feeling of relaxation, and the visitor can admire the technical skill of the sculptor, inspired by the other extraordinary artists in the museum.
