Envision a platform where Instagram meets graphic design. Behance is a social media platform owned by Adobe that allows users to showcase their design portfolio. You can also stream content like tutorials both live and archived on the website. The platform was founded by Matias Corea and Scott Belsky in November 2005, but was acquired by Adobe for $150 million in December 2012. I’m obsessed with Behance as it inspires me endlessly. I came into Design Survivor with absolutely no experience in Adobe, but with an admiration for the craft and the skill involved in executing a project digitally. Behance inspires me to develop and refine my own skills in graphic design. It reaffirms me that I can reach new heights with my design skills; it’s something new to which I can aspire. Beyond the motivational aspect for me, I am often in awe of the work that I see on the platform. I am struck by the degree of creativity and originality. There are so many gifted and talented designers in our world, and Behance provides a gallery to showcase this exemplary design work. I just have immense respect and admiration for the passion and skill involved in this work.
