I was debated whether to make this a WIG or not, and ended up deciding to do so. This product typically may not strike one as an example of desirable design – not particularly aesthetic and certainly not the comfiest chair out there. However, in the context of college dorms, these chairs end up being rather desirable, due to the following reasons: (1) Low cognitive cycles and highly practical functionality – these chairs fold up so easily and relatively compactly that they can be moved extremely easily, between common rooms, around desks, etc. (2) They are comfy enough that their lack of comfort relative to other chairs is not much of an issue. They are wide in berth and sometimes softly padded, making them a convenient space to sink into after coming back to the dorm after a long day of work. (3) They are affordable for college students, which makes them accessible to a demographic very likely to use them.
