Mechanical keyboards to me are an interesting item that people collect. Considered a hobby, mechanical keyboards are different from a regular keyboard that a non-enthusiast may have as they contain different “switches.” A switch is a type of mechanism that is essentially the button that lies underneath the key itself. These switches, which are considered high quality in mechanical keyboards, can vary in terms of their function. One example is the Cherry MX Blue switch which provides a tactile bump when you hit a key alongside an iconic “clicky” sound for auditory feedback. Some other switches may contain tactile feedback with no sound. Ultimately, what is fascinating about these keyboards is there are hundreds of options of customization and switches just for the daily routine of typing which many people do, unaware of mechanical keyboards.
